More than 80% of abas installations are based on Linux
ABAS Software AG is a forerunner as far as standard business management software on Linux is concerned. Since 1995, the Karlsruher have been delivering their business software on the Linux server operating systems. By now approximately 80% of the over 1,900 abas installations in medium sized companies use the Open Source System. The customers benefit from the experience headstart of ABAS.
| The users are pleased with Linux. That the operating system is available nearly free of charge may be nice, but is not crucial. "I think nobody in our company noticed the switch over to the Linux system as there were no visible changes for our colleagues. They could go on with their work as usual - but the response time had become significantly faster. Linux is a stable and reliable platform", gushes Dr. Ulrich Engel, chairman of the Erlangen radiation and environment measurement technology company ESM Eberline Instruments. | |||
| "We were persuaded by the arguments that Linux runs fast and troublefree and offers Unix advantages", is the conclusion of Walter Malok, business manager of the spectacles manufacturer 4B Design. "A large savings potential is caused by the low maintenance effort required by Linux." | |||
| The solutions for business management applications developed by ABAS Software AG are also used for Unix operating systems and Windows. With around 1,900 installations the software producer is one of the most successful providers of ERP systems. ABAS Software AG offers its customers highly flexible software, which optimizes operational processes in the areas of production planning and control (PPC), materials planning (MRP), finance and administration. The core target group are medium sized production, trade and service companies in various different industrial sectors. | |||
